Note: If you have purchased a Multi-User Pack download, you must complete the download process on each computer to which the program is being installed.
The images below are not active pages and do not contain any information from your order. They are example screenshots intended only to guide you through the download process.
STEP 1 - Locate your order using the Order Status form.
STEP 2 - Download purchased files to your desktop.
Click your "Download" button. This downloads the setup.exe file for the product that you bought. (Norton AntiVirus Professional™ is used in this example.)
Note: If clicking the "Download" button does not work, you can also right-click the "Download" button and select "Save target as" or "Save file as".
STEP 3 - Save using the File Download dialog box.
After you click the "Download" button, a File Download dialog box will appear on the page that you are viewing. Click the "Save" button.
STEP 4 - Download the setup.exe.
A "Save As" dialog box appears similar to the following. This is where you choose to download the setup.exe file. In the "Save in" drop-down box, select the location where you want to download this file (we recommend saving the file to your Desktop), Click the "Save" button.
STEP 5 - Download is complete.
As shown in the following image, a progress dialog box briefly appears indicating the progress of the download. The setup.exe file is saved to the location that you selected in the Save As dialog box. Once the download is complete click the close button if the dialog box remains open.
STEP 6 - Starting to load the startup.exe you just downloaded.
After the setup file downloads, you can click "Close" on the download progress dialog box. You should see an icon similar to the following (depending on the program downloaded) on your Desktop or wherever you saved setup.exe. Double-click the icon.
STEP 7 - Using the Download Manager dialog box.
The Download Manager dialog box (similar to the following) appears. Click the Start button to continue the download process for the Symantec product. If you want to start the installation immediately after downloading, ensure that the "Launch program when download completes" is checked.
STEP 8 - Saving the product file (.exe) from the dialog box.
In the dialog box that appears, select the location to which you want to download the product file (*.exe).
STEP 9 - Once the download completes, look for an icon similar to the following:
STEP 10 - Begin the installation process.
Double-click this icon to begin the installation process. The following dialog box will appear:
STEP 11 - You must accept the terms of the License Agreement.
STEP 12 - Scan for viruses before the product is installed.
Click Next. The "Scan for Viruses?" dialog box shown below will appear. Note that this scan can take a while (If you think your computer is virus free, you can click No to skip the scan). Click Yes if you prefer to scan for viruses before the product is installed.
STEP 13 - The Setup dialog box appears to finish installation process.
Click Next and follow the prompts in the installation instructions. When the installation completes, restart the computer.
